For Windows that means using dBpoweramp, EAC (Exact Audio Copy), or CUETools. However, heavily scratched or damaged CDs or otherwise defective CDs could still rip with errors even with secure ripping.įor the rips I do that I plan to import to my library I use a ripper that has AccurateRip. Fortunately the secure ripping in JRiver is reliable enough that the vast majority of rips are going to be correct. So you'd need to use an external tool to verify the rips if you're concerned about that. JRiver doesn't use AccurateRip to verify rips. I used CUETools to verify that the rips done by JRiver were correct. Their secure ripping is able to get a good rip of scratched CDs. I have tested secure ripping in the Windows version of JRiver Media Center. Secure ripping will re-read bad areas of the disc multiple times in an attempt to get a good read of that data.

I have only used the Windows version of JRiver.
